Once you have completed the entire story arc from this issue, you can replay this mission from the start location shown above.

First off, this is a fantastic mission; the best one in the game so far in my opinion. Therefore, I have done my best to not expose the story development in this walkthrough. The mission is pretty straightforward since it’s so story-heavy; it will guide you through by itself, however, this walkthrough will explain the basics of certain mechanics and fights, but it will skip specific story fragments.

Tier 1

Objective: Pick up the room key

It’s on the counter. There is no going back now.

nightmareinthedreampalace_2

Objective: Enter the AV Suite

Head for the stairs and go to the top floor. The AV Suite is through the first door you see.

nightmareinthedreampalace_3

Tier 2

Objective: Investigate the AV Suite

Interact with the various items in the room.

nightmareinthedreampalace_4

Objective: Leave the AV Suite

Keep going until you end up somewhere else.

nightmareinthedreampalace_6

Objective: Explore the Dreamscape

Follow John into the building.

If you’re trying to go down, that’s not going to get you anywhere. Go up.

nightmareinthedreampalace_8

You will gradually become intoxicated as you go on. Don’t worry, it won’t kill you. You will soon get into a fight with someone familiar.

Avoid his cone attack to get the Flawless Victory achievement. Be on the alert for when your intoxication messes with your keyboard movement keys.

nightmareinthedreampalace_9

Keep going. What lies ahead of you will put your concentration to the test.

nightmareinthedreampalace_10

Skipping ahead a bit, for story reasons, you’ll end up in the park with Ricky Pagan. You will have a dance-off. Immitate his dance moves.

nightmareinthedreampalace_13

We’re going to skip ahead quite a bit again. No need to go through the story here, you can do that ingame. You will reprise your fight against Freddy Beaumont. The fight is similar, but there are some differences. For instance, he has a cybernetic shield and will deal cybernetic AEGIS damage to you. He also has a lot less health than before and because of that, he will skip certain mechanics if you kill him too fast.

If he spawns two hounds, you need to kill them before you can finish him off.

nightmareinthedreampalace_20

Next up is the Black Pharaoh. He has a demonic shield here. Again, all the original mechanics are in, but if you deal a lot of damage to him fast, he will skip some of them.

nightmareinthedreampalace_21

Last, but not least, there is Mara. She has a psychic shield and will cast the massive blast attack. Hide behind one of the statues. Once she is getting low on health, she will start casting AoE attacks all over the floor.

nightmareinthedreampalace_22

At the end, you’ll be near the tunnel entrance to the Orochi Tower.

nightmareinthedreampalace_24

Go into the light to wake up.
