The Chrome Steed

Skip to Tier 4 if you want to know how to unlock The Chrome Steed as a mount.

Tier 1

Objective: Pick up the supplies

Objective: Pick up the pistol

Objective: Pick up the boombox

Objective: Inspect the map

Interact with the supply crate and the objects on it, next to the bike.

Objective: Get on the Chrome Steed

Interact with Ricky Pagan’s bike. Beware that the next few objectives will be on a timer. If you run out of time or somehow fall off the bike, you will need to return here to pick up the bike again.

Warning! Do not attempt to use any healing gadgets or potions while on the bike, after taking damage. This will dismount you and cause you to fail the objective.

Objective: Drive up onto the main road

Follow the red arrows floating in the air, they will show you the way.

Objective: Drive to the first soldier’s location

Up on the main road you will encounter a Filthy Biker. You can use the Driveby offensive ability on this vehicle’s ability bar to kill it. The target must be well in front of you to use it.

Objective: Get around the filth-covered highway

Do not try to go through them, you will die. Take a right turn down the stairs.

You can distract filthy enemies by using the blue ability on the vehicle ability bar.

Objective: Drive to the first soldier’s location

Continue following the main road and the red arrows. You will be attacked by more Filthy Bikers. Some of them will come up behind you. You can slow down to come up behind them so you can use the Driveby ability to take them out.

Drive to the highlighted location.

Objective: Park the bike

Drive over to the small area highlighted in blue, then interact with that point on the ground to park The Chrome Steed there.

Objective: Find the soldier

Make your way into the barricaded area up ahead. The solder is at the very end of the passage.

Objective: Give supplies to the soldier

Use any of the four ammo boxes to give the solider some supplies.

Objective: Investigate the nearby biker crash

Pick up an exploded landmine from the crashed bike nearby.

Objective: Investigate the car crash for useful supplies

To the right of the soldier there is a crashed car. Interact with the exhaust.

Objective: Upgrade the Chrome Steed with the nitro boost

Return to the bike and interact with it to apply the upgrades. Make sure there are no filth enemies too close to you that can interrupt you as the upgrade process takes ~10 seconds.

Tier 2

Objective: Get on the Chrome Steed

Interact with the bike once more to get on it again. If the next timer expires or you somehow fall off the bike, you wil need to come back to this location and pick it up again.

Objective: Drive to the second soldier’s location

Again, follow the red arrows to get to the next destination.

You now have two new abilities on the vehicle’s ability bar. The mine ability allows you to throw a mine onto the ground behind you and is very useful when you have Filthy bikers behind you.

The turbo ability gives you a temporary speed boost. It’s not really needed, but it’s useful if you want to get ahead of the Filthy bikers so you can use the Mine ability.

Objective: Take a detour to avoid the filthy bikers

Take a right and pass Susanoo’s Diner.

Objective: Get back onto the main road

After passing Susanoo’s Diner, take a left past the Morninglight building and make your way towards Kurt.

Objective: Drive to the second soldier’s location

At the large intersection, take a right towards Kaidan City Mall and the Dream Palace.

Objective: Take a shortcut through the mall

Follow the red arrows. There is a narrow passage through the mall building.

Objective: Get around the Filth-covered plaza

After coming through the passage, take a right and drive around the Dream Palace.

Objective: Drive to the second soldier’s location

Drive straight ahead until you come to a Y-intersection. Take a right and then a left. You should see a bright red light indicating the destination now.

Objective: Approach the second soldier

Make your way towards the soldier. Beware of the mines as they explode and deal damage if you step on them.

Objective: Help the second soldier survive the monsters you attracted

There will be a handful of waves of incoming enemies. Each wave has either a group of Spectres or a group of Filthy enemies.

Objective: Give supplies to the soldier

Interact with the box next to the soldier to give him some supplies.

Objective: Find replacement tires for the Chrome Steed

Replacement tires can be found in the nearby alley to the east. Refer to the minimap in the image below for the exact location.

Objective: Replace the tires on the Chrome Steed

Return to the punctured bike and swap the tires.

Tier 3

Objective: Get on the Chrome Steed

Use the bike to get on it again. If the next timer expires or you somehow fall off the bike, you wil need to come back to this location and pick it up again.

Objective: Drive to the third soldier’s location

Follow the red arrows through the cramped neighbourhood. Be prepared to ttake a left at the first intersection, as you will be ambushed by more Filthy bikers.

Objective: Take a detour to avoid the filthy bikers

Take a left. Remember to use the mount abilities at your disposal.

Objective: Drive to the third soldier’s location

Follow the red arrows and eventually you should see the third soldier.

Objective: Save the third soldier

Onwards! But wait…

Objective: Dismounted! Destroy the Defiler of Chrome!

…ambush! This entity is very angry with you, given its name!

Objective: Scavenge supplies

It’s not like he’ll need them now, right…?

Tier 4

Objective: Get on the Chrome Steed

Use the bike to mount it again. If the next timer expires or you somehow fall off the bike, you wil need to come back to this location and pick it up again.

Objective: Return to Ricky Pagan

Follow the red arrows again. Be prepared to take a left as you’ll be ambushed.

Objective: Escape yet more filthy bikers

Take a left and then another left, and drive off the ramp.

Objective: That was awesome! Return to Ricky Pagan

Take a left after landing from the jump and proceed to Ginpachi Park.

Objective: Escape even more filthy bikers

There will be dozens of mines on the ground up ahead. Try to avoid them.

Objective: Return to Ricky Pagan

Take a right and drive down into the park. Approach Ricky Pagan.

Objective: Park the Chrome Steed

Park the bike in the highlighted area next to the Ricky Pagan.

Objective: Store the scavenged supplies in Ricky’s box

Lastly, use the supply crate to put away all the supplies.
