The Dark Places

Tier 1

Objective: Locate an ideal vantage point to survey the canyon.

Head on over to co-ordinates (600, 965). You will come across a dead body and some binoculars. Use them and as soon as you exit out of them, you will be attacked by the Soul Corrupter, who will promptly kick you off the ledge and down into the canyon.

Tier 2

Objective: Fend off the canyon spirits

You will be attacked by a few waves of these spirits and they will eventually overwhelm you and kill you. Resurrect at the anima well Charon’s Crossing.

Tier 3

Objective: Search for help in the world of the spirits

So you died and chillin’ in the afterlife. Walk around until you find a spirit that looks like this:

Objective: Make contact with a ghostly warrior

Touch him to continue the mission

Objective: Follow the ghostly warrior

He will run off. Follow him until you reach another portal at co-ordinates (520, 1000).

Objective: Use the portal to return to the land of the living.

Click on it so you can resurrect your butt to face the Guardian.

Objective: Defeat the Guardian of the threshold

This guy isn’t too hard. It has the standard ‘throw filth’ attacks  and a dash ability. Beat him to advance.

Objective: Retrieve the Blade of Thutmose

Upon defeat, the Guardian will drop Thutmose’s blade. Pick it up.

Tier 4

Objective: Return to the world of spirits through the portal

What it says on the can. Rush back to the portal to return to the spirit world.

Objective: Use the Blade of Thutmose to rally the warriors

Run around the spirit world until you find another of those ghostly warriors. Make sure you have him selected then use the sword on him to rally him to your side. Repeat the same process on three more warriors.

Objective: Use the nearby portal to return to the world of the living

Go find another portal and use it to get back to the world of the living.

Tier 5

Objective: Use the blade to summon Thutmose’s warriors

Use the sword one more time and up pop your fellow allies!

Objective: Fend off the canyon spirits

As soon as your warriors pop up, the spirits from a few tiers ago appear again but this time, they won’t overwhelm you (hopefully) as your warriors help you make short work of them. Around 3 waves will appear.

As soon as the waves are over, a surprise visit by the Soul Corrupter will put you back in battle. You need to chip off around 1/4 of its health before it flies off again.

Tier 6

Objective: Lead the warriors through the canyon

You need to head to co-ordinates (770, 975). Along the way you will be bombed by filth. Be careful to avoid the pools and be sure that your warriors avoid the majority of them as it does do damage to them as well!

Objective: Defeat the Soul Corrupter

The bird has a horrible dash ability and some powerful filth attacks. The warriors won’t last long against it but they do help in whittling down its health. Keep at it until its dead.
