Suggested Auxiliary Abilities
Ability Ability Used to dash around the arena quickly. This is a necessity in the Eidolon Raid, especially when tanking. Other auxiliary weapons are not advised.

You can bring more block if you wish, but more than 900 is redundant as you sacrifice too much pen at that point. A signet of order of any quality will help you in mitigating damage as well, thus reducing the need for massive amounts of block. Regardless, 750 should be considered the absolute minimum, while 900 should be considered the absolute maximum.

As you use Elemental Force, it can be advantageous to have penetration or block on your chaos focus, but critical power on your blade.

This build is aimed for use in the Eidolon Raid. It is recommended that you have an experienced healer with you when using this build as it is lacking defensive cooldowns beyond Stoicism. Furthermore, it is strongly recommended that the stat requirements are met when using this build.

Situational abilities


This build is not afflicting. Either ask your co-tank to do this for you, or replace double dash with it. Afflict is essential to let your DPSes use Iron Maiden.


You will sacrifice the glance chance reduction and the hate generation boost form intensity, but in return you will stack exposed slightly faster.

Martial Discipline

If you find yourself in dire need of a defensive cooldown, you can replace surging blades with this ability. If you do this, you can either keep double dash, or you can replace it with something to give you mitigation (like immovable object).


You can use this instead of martial discipline, and either keep double dash, use immovable object, or simply bring master of illusions to gain a higher evade chance when using this ability. It is strongly recommended to use illusion and its passive in groups with low DPS.

How it works

You will use death form above and surging blades to dash around the arena quickly in order to grab adds, the boss and so forth. When you change aggro, the tank who grabs aggro uses provoke first, and then the tank who had aggro confuses once the boss turns. This allows for very safe aggro changes. Time Brandish with Elemental Force every rotation for extra aggro generation, this, together with stoicism and agitator should enable you to hold aggro, but remember to lay off the stoicism button if it is not your turn to have aggro on the boss.
