The Black House

Tier 1

Objective: Find a way to enter the Black House

The Black House is not far from John Wolf. Attempting to enter the house through the front door will not work (although you may try, just for fun). To be able to enter the house you must go around to the back.

Note: Inside the house you will from time to time take damage from some debris being thrown or blown at you. This seems to happen if you linger in a room too long, and is quite sudden and seems not avoidable. See picture below for debris.

Tier 2

Objective: Search for clues on the ground floor

As you enter the house, take first door to the right, then the door on the left hand side, into the bleeding room. These are not lasers, it’s running blood, and they will no harm you. Interact with the newspaper clipping in the corner.

Objective: Search for clues upstairs

Go back outside into the hallway, and head up the stairs. The clue will be in the bathroom, which is through the door, not the hole in the wall.

Objective: Search for clues in the basement

As you try to exit the bathroom, you’ll notice that the house is pissed at you. The door slams shut and the rooms starts to fill with smoke. Attack the door to open it again.

Head down two flights of stairs and into the basement. The candle in the far corner is a fake clue, no need to pick i up. Your real clue is to your right as you enter the basement. Interact with Carrie’s will to read it.

Tier 3

Objective: Find Carrie Killian’s grave

Her grave is outside, behind the house.

Interact with the gravestone to read it.

Objective: Recover Carrie Killian’s ashes

Interact with the urn to recover it. And pay attention!

You need to remove the protection from the wards. If you paid attention, you simply need to click the wards in the same order as the pentagram was drawn. If you didn’t pay attention, the correct order is, from the perspective of the image below, bottom right, top left, top right, bottom left and centre.

The ward will now dissipate, and you may interact with the urn to pick it up. It will appear in your inventory.

Tier 4

Objective: Go to the banks of the Miskatonic

Head to the little yellow dot on the map.

Objective: Scatter the ashes into the water

Once here, step into the water and right-click the ashes in your inventory. The mission is now completed.
